Born in Sherman Oaks, Calif., Ashley Olsen and her twin sister, Mary-Kate, are some of the most successful child stars in history.
The duo began when they were cast in 1987 to share the role of Michelle Tanner on the ABC sitcom "Full House." Eight successful seasons followed and by their teen years, the Olsen twins had managed to create their own empire of TV movies, videos, books, magazines and a fashion line.
In 1992, Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen formed their own production company, Dualstar, becoming the youngest producers in history.
Still just 18, they released their first major film, "New York Minute," in 2004. Soon thereafter, they took a break from their careers to enroll at New York University.
While it remains to be seen if she’ll find the same level of success in her adult years, one thing is certain – Ashley Olsen has already cemented herself as a pop culture icon.
