Bryce Dallas Howard Replacing Rachelle Lefevre in 'Eclipse'

By Rich King on July 29, 2009

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — "Twilight" fans are about to see a new set of fangs.

Bryce Dallas Howard is taking over the role of Victoria in the franchise's third installment, "Eclipse," studio Summit Entertainment announced late Tuesday.

The actress, who is the 28-year-old daughter of director Ron Howard, assumes the role from Rachelle Lefevre, who starred in the hit franchise's first film and its upcoming sequel, "New Moon." The casting change was brought about by a scheduling conflict with Lefevre's upcoming schedule, the studio said.

"We are incredibly happy that Bryce has agreed to come into the franchise," said Erik Feig, Summit's President of Worldwide Production and Acquisitions. "Rachelle brought Victoria to great screen life and Bryce will bring a new dimension to the character. The franchise is lucky to have such a talented actress as Bryce coming in to fill the role."

In "Eclipse," Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob—knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.

Howard most recently starred in "Terminator Salvation" as Kate Connor. Her other film credits include "Spider-Man 3," "Lady in the Water" and "The Village."

Howard also earned a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in HBO's "As You Like It."

"Eclipse," which begins shooting next month in Vancouver, is due to arrive in theaters on June 30, 2010.

Scarlett Johansson Shaped Up for Black Widow in 'Iron Man 2'

By Alexis Sezar on July 27, 2009

LOS ANGELES — Scarlett Johansson "kicked some major butt" at the gym as she whipped her body into top shape to play the Black Widow in the highly-anticipated sequel "Iron Man 2."

"It was many, many, hours, days, and months of stunt training and strength training," the 24-year-old actress tells People of her training regimen for the film, which will arrive in theaters on May 7, 2010.

Johansson said her countless hours of training were made easier knowing that she had to don a skintight catsuit to play the Russian spy.

"I had a goal. The goal was the Lycra catsuit," she said of knowing what was at stake.

So was Johansson happy with the end result after she zipped up for the first time?

"You put that much work into something and you put it on and you better be happy with it," she told the mag.

"It was crazy to see it for the first time – everything all zipped up and all the weapons in there, bracelets on, the whole look," she continued. "It was pretty sweet, I have to say."

Johansson's Black Widow costume also managed to make quite the impression on the film's set as well.

"Certainly walking on set, because a lot of the people that worked on the film were fans of the comic and of course they knew the Black Widow – they were all super excited to see the Black Widow," she said. "When everybody in the crew were like, 'That looks awesome!' I knew. Like, 'Okay.' "
