HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Another former American Idol star is experiencing the blues.
David Archuleta, one of the most popular contestants in the show's history, has been dropped by his record label.
A rep for Jive Records confirmed the news Friday, telling The Hollywood Reporter that the 20-year-old singer "was released from [their] roster."
The move comes after Archuleta's second album, 2010's The Other Side of Down, failed miserably. The release sold just over 63,000 copies, a far cry from his 2008 self-titled debut that went platinum.
Archuleta was the runner-up to David Cook in season 7 of American Idol.
