BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. – It was a star-studded affair at the 59th Annual BMI Pop Music Awards held Tuesday night at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills.
Among those hitting the red carpet were Benji and Joel Madden, Keri Hilson, Colbie Caillat, Charles Kelley, Dave Haywood, Kara DioGuardi, Lisa Loeb, Jay Sean, Jason Derulo, Delta Goodrem, Rodney "Darkchild" Jenkins, BC Jean, Kris Allen, Skylar Grey, Ron Artest, Jurnee Smollett and husband Josiah Bell.
David Foster was celebrated as a BMI Icon at the 2011 BMI Pop Music Awards. The invitation-only ceremony also honored the songwriters and publishers of the past year's most-performed pop songs in the United States. The evening included an all-star musical tribute to Foster, as well as the presentation of the Pop Songwriter, Song, and Publisher of the Year crystals.
BMI Icons are selected because of their "unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers." As a BMI Icon, Foster joins an elite ranks that includes John Fogerty, Kris Kristofferson, the Jacksons, the Bee Gees, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Paul Simon, Merle Haggard, Brian Wilson, Willie Nelson, James Brown, Carlos Santana, Dolly Parton, and others.
