LOS ANGELES – Former Pussycat Doll Carmit Bachar has given birth.
The flame-haired singer and her fiance Kevin Whitaker welcomed daughter Keala Rose into the world on September 18, and the thrilled new parents are excited to be starting a "new chapter" in their lives.
Writing on twitter, Carmit said: "The journey was long but our precious baby girl has arrived. My fiance Kevin Whitaker & I would love to introduce 'Keala Rose' born 9/18/11
"Thank you all for the beautiful messages & support. This was an incredible experience & new chapter in life. Keala means 'the path' in Hawaiin (sic)"
However, the 37-year-old admits the first few days of motherhood have been a challenge.
She added: "The blessings r overwhelming! Luv 2u all! Motherhood is challenging& indescribably beautiful! Pronounced KAY-ALA 7lbs15.2oz our light angel (sic)"
Carmit also celebrated the baby's "one week birthday".
She wrote: "Happy 1 week bday to my beautiful baby Keala!! Yyaaaaaaaay(sic)"
Carmit joined the Pussycat Dolls in 1995, but left the band - which also featured Nicole Scherzinger, Melody Thornton, Kimberley Wyatt, Jessica Sutta and Ashley Roberts - in 2008 to pursue a solo career.
