HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Christina Aguilera knew it was the right thing to do when she filed for divorce from husband Jordan Bratman.
"Things were so unhealthy and unhappy for both Jordan and me, I knew I had to end it," the 29-year-old Burlesque star tells People of her October split. "I really didn't want to hurt Jordan, and I felt torn about splitting our family up."
Aguilera says the couple's son Max, who turns 3 in January, weighed heavily in her decision.
"When you're unhappy in your marriage, your children are the ones who suffer," she explains. "That's the last thing I wanted for my son."
Aguilera is rumored to have a new boyfriend in a Matthew Rutler, a set assistant on Burlesque. So are things heating up between the two?
"He's the kind of person you could spend hours with on the phone talking to and all of a sudden it's daylight," she says.
