HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Stop the music: Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens have split.
The High School Musical stars recently called it quits after three years of dating, a source tells Us Weekly.
"It was mutual," the insider said of the breakup. "They have been together for so long. It just ran its course. They are still talking and still friends. There's no drama. No one cheated. They just grew up."
Efron, 23, and Hudgens, 21, met in 2005 when shooting first began on the popular Disney franchise.
"Right off the bat, we had a connection, I think everybody could see it," Hudgens said in the June issue of Glamour.
The pair's relationship was often called a publicity stunt, a rumor Efron shot down earlier this year.
"That's just f---ing insane," he told Details of the claim. "It would have been so much easier to call it off a long time ago."
