HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Eva Longoria is speaking out for the first time since filing for divorce from husband Tony Parker.
"It is with great sadness that after 7 years together, Tony and I have decided to divorce," the Desperate Housewives star said on her Twitter page Wednesday, hours after her divorce filing in Los Angeles. "We love each other deeply and pray for each other's happiness."
The couple's marriage reportedly fell apart when Longoria discovered the San Antonio Spurs star was having an affair with a teammate's wife. Among her alleged findings were hundreds of text messages between Parker and the woman, who has yet to be identified.
"Eva wants everyone to know, she's devastated," Mario Lopez of Extra said of his close friend. "She loved her husband and is heartbroken about their split. But she's strong."
Longoria, 35, and Parker, 28, married on July 7, 2007 in a 17th century castle outside Paris.
