LOS ANGELES and NEW YORK — The sci-fi smash Inception and the Facebook drama The Social Network won top honors at the 2011 Writers Guild Awards dished out Saturday night.
Inception writer Christopher Nolan won for best original screenplay while The Social Network writer Aaron Sorkin took honors for best adapted screenplay.
The 63rd annual awards were handed out during simultaneous ceremonies held at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles and the AXA Equitable Center in New York City.
The Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) and Writers Guild of America, West (WGAW) are labor unions representing writers in motion pictures, television, cable, digital media, and broadcast news.
