Is Niall Horan Leaving One Direction?

Late Sunday evening and into early Monday morning, fans awoke to news that Niall Horan had decided to leave One Direction.

Several reliable outlets including Sugarscape and Yahoo! Celebrity UK reported that the 21-year-old had quit the band.  The latter source tweeted, “Niall Horan Niall has left One Direction!!” which was circulated amongst thousands of 1D fans, sending them into a frenzy of concern.

However, it appears the whole situation was yet another result of a hacking scandal.

The rumor is completely false and Horan is not leaving 1D.  Both Yahoo! and Sugarscape released statements explaining the situation.

“So while we were fast asleep, it turns out some dickhead hacked our account. VERY sorry for any heart attacks caused,” explained Sugarscape on Monday in a tweet before adding, “Just to confirm, Niall is NOT leaving One Direction.” Meanwhile, Yahoo! Celebrity UK clarified, “Morning everyone. Just so you know, Niall Horan isn’t in fact leaving 1D, our account was hacked last night. We repeat, Niall isn’t leaving.”

 

Yahoo also took to Twitter to deny the rumors and keep 1D fan resting assures that Horan is still part of the band. Niall himself as yet to comment.

Meanwhile, the boys from across the pond have been having lots of fun over the last couple weeks while filming promotions for the holidays. They sang with Jimmy Fallon in ugly Christmas sweaters and even got the chance to carry Amy Adams on SNL (after she had an extreme fan girl moment over them).
