HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Janet Jackson will be playing her hits when she hits the road this year.
On Monday, the pop star announced her 2011 North American tour dates, which will feature Jackson performing songs exclusively from her 2009 compilation, Number Ones.
The singer's "Janet Jackson Number Ones, Up Close and Personal Tour" is slated to kick off on March 4 at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas. The tour will wrap with a pair of shows on April 22-23 at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas.
"These concerts will be different from anything I have ever done," said Jackson. "I will be as up close and personal as possible. These concerts are not about special effects. This is a love affair between me and those of you who have supported me and my work for all these years. I'll be singing and dancing from my heart. The music will all be songs that you've made number ones for me. Let's go!"
Next month, Jackson will release her first book, True You, which chronicles her lifelong struggles with weight and self-esteem. The book, offering her perspective on dieting and exercise, hits bookshelves on Feb. 8.
