LOS ANGELES – Simon Cowell might not marry for 20 years.
The 51-year-old 'X Factor' judge popped the question to Mezhgan Hussainy, 38, last year and although she has recently been spotted without her engagement ring and Simon admitted he "wasn't sure" if they were still engaged, his publicist Max Clifford insists all is well but the pair have no immediate plans to tie the knot.
He said: "You might have to wait 20 years for Simon to plan a wedding - but they are as close as they have ever been."
Simon - who claimed last year he could see himself and make-up artist Mezhgan having "little Simons" one day - recently ruled out ever having children admitting he doesn't have the "patience" to care for a baby.
Asked if he had now ruled out having children, the 51-year-old music mogul said: "At my age, definitely. The reality is, with the way I live my life, I wouldn't have the patience. I'd sort of want people born at the age of 10, I think.
"[I thought about it for] a little while, but not seriously. I was sort of probably just in the moment. Truthfully, with the schedule, the crazy hours, I don't think it would work."
