SANTA MONICA, Calif. — Football star Tom Brady and supermodel Gisele Bündchen got married Thursday in a small, intimate ceremony in Santa Monica, Calif., according to Us Weekly.
The pair tied the knot just before 6 p.m. at St. Monica Catholic Church. The ceremony was held in front of a close group of friends and family, including Brady's 1½ year-old son, John Edward Thomas, with his ex Bridget Moynahan, the magazine says.
According to Us, the Brazilian beauty wore a sleek ivory strapless Dolce & Gabbana gown with a trumpet skirt, a long train and a veil with attached handmade satin roses that touched the floor.
A small gathering at the couple's Brentwood home followed the wedding, which was the first for both.
Brady, 31, and Bündchen, 28, began dating in 2006 and have been the subject of engagement rumors since late last year. In December, TMZ reported that the New England Patriots star had proposed to Bündchen while flying with her parents on a private jet from New Jersey to Boston. The plane was reportedly packed with champagne and four-dozen white roses to celebrate the occasion, but the quarterback's father quickly denied the report.
A second engagement report surfaced in January, with People claiming the couple was planning a spring affair, perhaps in Costa Rica.
Whatever the case, friends of the pair say they are perfect for each other.
"She's definitely 'The One,' " a source told Us. "She really makes him comfortable and just happy."
