Just how good did Annie Coggeshall look in her “modern fairytale” gown when she married Colton Dixon? “I’ve got a smoking hot wife!” the American Idol alum gushed to People right after the ceremony.
“I felt amazing in the dress,” Coggeshall tells People of her multi-layered, strapless organza Vera Wang. “I love all the layers and the petal details and the long train. It’s feminine with a little edge and a little high fashion. I felt like a princess at a ball.”

And her Prince Charming was equally fashion-forward.
“I’ve been in weddings where you feel like the suit is wearing you,” says Dixon, who made a mark as a finalist in Idol‘s eleventh season with his glam-rock-meets-punk style. For his own big day, no ordinary penguin suit would do. Instead, he custom ordered his outfit from Korean brand By The “R.”
“It doesn’t feel like a full-on tux,” he shares. “There’s a vest with tons of buttons and the jacket comes to two points in the front and is short-waisted in the back, almost like a leather jacket might be. It’s a Euro-looking tuxedo and it’s very tailored to me.”

The most unexpected detail, however, were his shoes. “I really disliked the traditional tuxedo shoes, so I found these ankle boots that my tux tucked into,” he says. ” They have spats and they are patent leather so they have a tuxedo feel.”
A final element of surprise? A Batman T-shirt hidden underneath his suit!

The bride, meanwhile, bucked tradition by foregoing a wedding band. Instead Dixon slipped her engagement ring onto her finger during the ceremony. The diamond-encrusted stunner was a nod to Hollywood — she picked it out at celeb favorite XIV Karats Ltd. in Beverly Hills. “It’s all the more special because I found it in Beverly Hills and I love it there,” says, Coggeshall, an L.A. resident who will now be making the move to Nashville. “It’s my dream ring. I’m a lucky girl.”

Dixon’s band features a single diamond in white gold custom made for him by his friend, L.A. jeweler Kyle Chan.
For the couple’s reception, the bride amped up the glam, changing into a champagne gold Monique Lhuillier mermaid gown. “It was fitted, which Colton liked!” she says. “It felt very old Hollywood and I did a darker lip and changed my hair and whole look. It’s a fun party dress.”
