Ivanka Trump is having a seriously stylish week (but when is that not the case?). After braving the weather at New York Fashion Week, she jetted down to Florida to unveil the Jack Nicklaus Villa at the Trump National Doral, and she followed that up with a spread in Vogue (see a behind-the-scenes shot, below!). We caught her in between all the craziness to talk style, raiding mom’s wardrobe and Oscar de la Renta’s legacy.

And of course, we had to ask about the amazing Bob Mackie dress she recently “borrowed” from mom Ivanka’s closet. “Actually, I called her and said ‘Mom, I’m going to a party this weekend that is ’80s themed, do you have anything?’ She said, ‘I have a closet full of dresses I’ll never wear again, come over!’ ” And while she was there, she did a little more shopping for herself: “I thought, Wow, this is amazing! Recently I raided her closet again. I may be wearing a few more of her dresses soon! It’s incredible to see some of these creations that stand the test of time and can be reinvented for another generation.”
The real estate executive and fashion designer, who recently launched IvankaTrump.com — a website with the goal of “empowering women” (and which happens to have even more gorgeous behind-the-scenes snaps from the Vogue shoot) — also announced plans for an exclusive Dolce & Gabbana fashion show set to take place this March during the property’s PGA Cadillac Tournament. Trump explained that the decision came about because, “We wanted to make sure we were creating an experience for people when golf ended.”

Fashion was certainly top of mind for Donald Trump’s eldest daughter, as she had just come from attending numerous shows during NYFW, one of which struck an especially personal chord. This year marked the debut of Peter Copping, the new fashion director for Oscar De La Renta (an Ivanka “favorite”), after the designer passed away last year. Trump called the event “beautiful,” saying, “It was amazingly influenced by Oscar’s vision and taste, yet with Peter’s unique perspective. It was a really spectacular show.”
And for those worried about her shivering for style during NYFW, she laughs off the concern. “It was pretty cold for six seconds, but I was OK. I survived!” After all, she points out, “I’m a New Yorker, I’m used to the cold weather!”
What do you think of her Vogue spread? Are you excited to see more from her mom’s closet?
