Until Jennifer Aniston invites us all over to flip through her wedding album, dress speculation is going to continue to build. While she stepped out Wednesday night for her film premiere with some exciting new hardware on her left ring finger, the internet was in a frenzy wondering if a Say Yes to the Dress episode revealed the white gown she wore at her surprise Wednesday wedding. And while the ring is the real thing, the dress (sorry guys) wasn’t what she wore down the aisle.

First up: That new accessory. Designed by pal Jennifer Meyer (who also designed Justin’s wedding ring and who accompanied them on their Bora Bora honeymoon), the yellow-gold ring features a pavé row of diamonds inset among two slightly raised and rounded gold bands.
Already missing her “rock” (her words!) of an engagement ring? She once said that it wasn’t quite her style, and it’s not uncommon for stars with totally enormous engagement rings to keep them safely stored for special occasions only, and to wear a less showy band instead.
Other celebs who have done the same include Jennifer Garner (who wore a simple white gold band for everyday activities), Angelina Jolie (seen sporting a slightly chunky golden band at the Kids’ Choice Awards), Reese Witherspoon (she has a slim diamond band which she wears when running errands) and Kerry Washington (who never wore an engagement ring at all, just going straight to the band). And stars with outrageously huge rings — think Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian — occasionally will wear nothing at all.
And as for that wedding dress clue? Sorry, it’s just the Internet playing tricks on you again.
A Say Yes to the Dress fanatic noticed that a Kleinfeld bridal consultant mentioned she’d picked an $8,400 Mark Zunino dress for the star, which got people buzzing that it might be the dress. But even if Aniston had paid a visit to Kleinfeld, anyone who has ever seen her on a red carpet knows she’s not big on shoulders, illusion netting, appliqués and trumpet hems. And a quick scan on Google shows that it was just “suggested” for her by the studio around the time of her engagement.
Not to mention, of course, that a wedding source tells PEOPLE her gown was cream colored, “strapless, elegant and flowy,” all things that we know the star loves. But hey — until we get that album party invite, we can keep imagining!
What do you think she wore? Is it interesting that she’s not wearing her engagement ring anymore?
