At this point, Joe Jonas seems to be changing his hair more than Kylie Jenner (read: That’s a lot). And his latest dye job reminds us a lot of another singer that got his start in a boy band: Zayn Malik.

The DNCE frontman, 26, stepped out Thursday in West Hollywood with a freshly highlighted hairstyle — a platinum dip-dye on the tips of his hair, paired with his brown roots and freshly shorn sides. And in case you didn’t notice, the new do is very similar to his ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid’s new flame, Zayn. Just weeks before, Jonas was seen sporting a multi-color, pastel shade, with bits of pink, purple and green hues, introducing us all to the lollipop-colored hair trend. And two months before that, Jonas was first bitten by the color bug after adding a single streak of blue to the ends of his hair, courtesy of Brooklyn hairstylist Laura Estroff, of Kennaland salon.
So based on his hair history, we’d say Jonas isn’t necessarily channeling his ex-girlfriend’s new guy’s aesthetic, but merely trying to find his true colors … by means of a few boxes of hair dye.
