As ‘90s trends are back in full force, the guy who made harem pants for men hip looks back on his legacy.
When asked if he has any fashion regrets looking back at photos of him in Hammer pants from his heyday, MC Hammer says “absolutely not.”

“Here we are almost 30 years later: They’re in right now,” says the hip-hop veteran, who partnered with Command Brand in New York to launch its Do. No Harm. campaign in New York. “Justin Bieber, Usher, Beyoncé — you name it, they all wear versions of Hammer pants. It’s fantastic.”

Adds Hammer, 54, of his namesake britches: “I’m proud of being a visionary. Who would have regrets about something that has lasted through the years, that now some of the greatest icons in the music business all wear today?”
The rap star and father of five has celebrated some major anniversaries (“U Can’t Touch This” turned 25 in 2015, while “Too Legit to Quit” followed suit this year), but he’s still active in his artistic pursuits.
In addition to his Command Brand partnership, Hammer (born Stanley Kirk Burrell) made a cameo in this year’s Zoolander 2 and will release new music later this year.
