We always thought Princess Kate was the most prolific royal re-wearer. But Princess Anne, Prince Charles’s sister, has earned the crown for one of the oldest outfit repeats we’ve ever seen. For Day 2 of Royal Ascot, the annual five-day horse race attended by Queen Elizabeth and other members of the royal family, the polished royal opted for an ensemble she wore to another significant royal event — 35 years ago!

Queen Elizabeth’s daughter belted the mustard-hued coat dress over a printed blouse, on the second day of Royal Ascot. She accessorized the look with bow-embellished kitten heels, a multicolored hat and a pair of matching tights!

For the ensemble’s first appearance in 1980, Princess Anne paired it with the same printed blouse, but a different wide-brim hat and brooch.
This might be our second favorite royal re-wear. Our first is definitely Prince George’s blue and white outfit he wore on at the annual Trooping the Colour earlier this month — the very same one his dad Prince William wore for his first balcony appearance in 1984.
