There’s nothing basic about Taylor Swift‘s breakups. The singer proves just that in her new music video for “Blank Space.” Instead of sitting around eating a pint of cookie dough ice cream in a pair of worn-in sweatpants, Swift gets even with her music video boyfriend “Sean” in a string of gorgeous outfits and killer accessories.

Here are five of our favorite fashion moments from the epic video, and the lessons only Taylor can teach us about breaking up in style.

• You always need an Oscar de la Renta dress at your disposable.
You know, for those times when you’re walking through the halls of your castle reflecting on how great things used to be. Taylor’s sequin bow-embroidered design (from the designer’s Fall 2014 collection) is the perfect one to have on hand.

• When dropping your cheating ex’s cell phone into a fountain, wear a matching crop top set.
Seriously, give him one last look at your Ballet Beautiful body. You want him to miss those abs.

• Don’t underestimate the power of a fierce leopard dress and sky-high heels.
Especially when you’re rolling around the floor crying.
