HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Paris Hilton is heartbroken after having her Hollywood Hills home ransacked by a burglar early Friday morning.
"I am devastated," the heiress told Life & Style Weekly. "I cannot believe someone broke into my home. They took items that had such sentimental value that no one will ever be able to replace."
Los Angeles Police Officer April Harding told the Los Angeles Times that a burglar "wearing a hooded sweat shirt and gloved" entered the home and "ransacked her bedroom." The burglar made off with a reported $2 million in jewelry and other items.
Authorities believe that the job was not done by a professional thief, leaving them optimistic that they'll be able to apprehend the individual behind the heist.
Hilton, who purchased the 7,500-square-foot Mulholland Estates property last year for more than $5 million, wasn't home at the time of the robbery.
"I'm just thankful that I wasn't there when it happened," she told Life & Style.
