PARIS — Salma Hayek chose the city of love and Valentine's Day as the opportune time to say "I do."
The 42-year-old Hayek married French businessman Francois-Henri Pinault on Saturday at the City Hall of the Sixth Arrondissement in central Paris, according to The Associated Press.
The wedding was a small affair, an official speaking on condition of anonymity told AP.
The couple's nuptials took place several months after they called off their engagement last July.
Hayek and Pinault 46, first met three years ago in Venice, Italy. They became engaged in March 2007 and welcomed their first daughter, Valentina Paloma, in September 2007.
Valentina is Hayek's first child, while Pinault has two children from a previous marriage.
Hayek previously admitted to Glamour magazine that she wasn't in a rush to walk down the aisle.
"Do I think we are going to get married? Probably. Will it make a difference? I hope not. I don't have a need for marriage," the actress and producer said.
"You want to grow old with someone, you want to have a partner and to have children — we have all those things," she added. "Some people need the commitment. Maybe we'll just make the party!"
