HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. — Taylor Swift can do without all the Hollywood glamor when it comes to her big day.
The country star celebrated her 19th birthday on Saturday with a low-key affair at home, surrounded by close to 40 friends and family.
According to People, guests were treated to a buffet dinner that included sushi, mini beef Wellingtons and bacon-wrapped scallops, while dessert featured two ice cream cakes from Cold Stone Creamery.
The partygoers then battled it out in a ping-pong tournament (won by Swift's manager) before enjoying some S'mores that were prepared using an outdoor fire pit, the magazine says.
The evening seemed to be the perfect mix for Swift, who had her heart broken by Joe Jonas in October and recently admitted that she's perfectly content living the single life.
"I'm not typically the girl who dates a lot of guys or is in relationships a lot," she told TheBoot.com. "Most of my life, I've been single. If I meet somebody who's great, I'll make an exception. But I'm really happy being alone ... I don't feel a sense of emptiness if I don't have a boyfriend."
The singer also admitted to having a few key dating rules.
"If you're like, 'I need to talk to you' all the time, [or] 'Why didn't you call me back?' ... If you're that girl, then nobody's going to want to date you," she explained. "I have this rule: I don't call a guy first. And you can't ever send two text messages in a row."
