Name: Lil’ Kev
Profession: Singer, Actor
Lil’ Kev, born Kevin L. Hendricks Jr. in Indianapolis in 1991, is an up-and-coming singer and actor. His parents were the first to recognize their son’s talent and his love for performing. His career as a rapper, performer, and radio station DJ began at the age of nine, but he already knew by then that he did not want to commit to any particular area in entertainment.
In addition to being a rapper, he is also a great actor and has a natural skill to entertain a crowd. Lil’ Kev’s acting credits include his role in the 2005 film “EZ Money,” which also features three of his songs on the film’s soundtrack.
This emerging rapper knows what he wants and is determined to achieve his goals. Lil’ Kev and his parents also believe that his success depends on a strong educational foundation. While music and acting is important to him, he is also very dedicated to his home tutoring, where he maintains a 3.8 grade point average.
Lil’ Kev has performed shows throughout the country. His first performance was at the YMCA (Young Men’s Christian Association), where he performed his first single, “Here I Come.” He has also performed at the Anderson’s Black Expo, State Fair, Chicago Taste, Devington Community and at Indiana’s Black Expo.
Lil’ Kev recently signed a national recording deal with Fontana/Universal and his new video will be appearing on BET. Lil’ Kev was also selected the Best Teen Male Performer for the New York Music festival. Additional performances include shows with B5, 112, Trillville, Slick Rick, Public Announcement, O’ Jayes, Angela Winbush, Paul Wall, Michael Cooper, Rhymefest, Da Back Wudz and Boyz N Da Hood in recent years.
The young entertainer is currently signed with Stewart’s Talent Agency and has opened for top-notch artists such as Wyclef, Lil’ Flip, Avant, Tamia, Juvenile, Choppa from Bad Boys, and Loon from Bad Boys. His favorite musical artists are Nas, 2Pac, Nelly, T.I., Ludacris, and particularly Bow Wow. Lil’ Kev feels that Bow Wow has opened doors in the industry for kids such as Romeo and himself.
