HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Alexis Bledel and Scott Porter will soon share the big screen in the romantic comedy "The Good Guy," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

According to the trade publication, the 29-year-old Porter will portray an up-and-coming Wall Street star named Tommy, who is in a hot new relationship with girlfriend Beth, played by Bledel.

The film also stars Andrew McCarthy, who will play Tommy's mean-spirited boss. Bryan Greenberg, Aaron Yoo and Anna Chlumsky will also star in the film, which is currently in production in New York.

The 26-year-old Bledel is best known for role as Rory Gilmore in the television series "Gilmore Girls." The former fashion model appears in "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2," which opens in theaters next month.

Earlier this month, Entertainment Weekly reported that Porter would play a limited role on the upcoming third season of "Friday Night Lights." The move was the result of his character, as well as the one portrayed by Gaius Charles, having graduated. Porter played ex-starting quarterback Jason Street, who was left paralyzed from an injury in the show's first season.

"Pete Berg, myself and our fellow producers have enormous respect for Scott and Gaius both as actors and individuals. In short, we love them," the show's executive producer, Jason Katims, told EW. "However, both of their characters have now graduated and in the creative spirit of the show, we have decided to give them powerful four episode arcs that will observe their characters as they launch themselves into the next phase of their lives."
