TIJUANA, Mexico — An Austrian woman accused of stalking “CSI: Miami” star David Caruso has been detained in Mexico, The Associated Press reports.
The woman was previously charged with stalking and threatening to kill the 53-year-old Caruso, but failed to show up for court in 2007. She was tracked down late Thursday with the help of a blog called The Stalker Chronicles, a site dedicated to finding her, AP says.
She reportedly sent death threats after the actor failed to respond to more than 100 letters and her requests for an autograph.
The woman is identified by Mexican media reports as Heidimarie Schnitzer. She is believed to be in her early 40s.
According to AP, she was turned over to immigration officials and will likely be deported to stand trial.
