HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — An apparent stalker obsessed with Olympian Shawn Johnson was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly tried to jump a fence and sneak onto the set of "Dancing With the Stars," according to The Associated Press.
Robert O'Ryan, 34, of Yullee, Fla. was detained by security at CBS Studios, where the hit ABC reality series is filmed. Johnson is currently a celebrity contestant on the show.
A search of O'Ryan's vehicle later turned up a loaded shotgun and handgun, as well as duct tape and love letters, AP says.
O'Ryan reportedly told authorities that he packed up all his belongings and traveled across country with the intention of being with the 17-year-old Johnson.
An attorney for the Johnson family wrote in a restraining order application that the gymnastics star is "in fear of her life."
A temporary restraining order was granted Wednesday to protect Johnson. A hearing has been set for April 14 to determine whether a lengthier restraining order should be granted, AP says.
O'Ryan is currently being held on $35,000 bail.
Johnson won a gold medal at the Olympic Games in Beijing last summer. She is a heavy favorite to emerge victorious on "Dancing With the Stars."
