NEWARK, N.J. — Artie Lange tossed out the first pitch at Tuesday night's Newark Bears game, a feat that was captured by one of the few individuals in attendance at the minor league ballpark.
Lange took on the challenge in an attempt to better the infamous first pitch tossed by "Howard Stern Show" producer Gary Dell'Abate. The man known as "Baba Booey" has been ridiculed for his first pitch at a New York Mets game back in May, although he did manage to later auction off the ball for charity.
A caller on Wednesday's show claimed that Lange's first pitch bounced well ahead of the plate. Lange, however, argued that his pitch landed on the plate.
In an attempt to claim he was under more pressure, Dell'Abate made note that Lange's pitch came before maybe 40 fans, a figure that the comedian admitted was being "generous."
For those of you keeping score at home, the Bears went on to lose 6-5 to the visiting Camden Riversharks.
