HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Ashlee Simpson has a bone to pick with anybody who thinks her old sister Jessica has a weight problem.
"My sister has an incredible body. I feel sorry for anyone who would judge her, because she's one sexy lady," Ashlee, 25, tells the December issue of Women's Health. "It's disgusting that people would say those things."
Fox issued an apology to Jessica last month after mocking the star's weight in a skit that aired during Fox NFL Sunday. The controversial piece featured cartoon depictions of Marion Barber and Jason Witten, who wondered what their Dallas Cowboys teammate Tony Romo saw in his ex-girlfriend.
"I still can't believe Tony dated Jessica Simpson, even after she blew up bigger than Flozell Adams," said Barber's character.
"Unlike Tony, at least Jessica comes up big when it counts," added Witten's character.
"Say Tony, is Jessica around? We could use a defensive tackle!" chimed in the character for Cowboys coach Wade Phillips.
Shortly after the cartoon bash, Jessica wrote on her Twitter page: "I will never understand why people attack for a laugh. Own your beauty and don't listen to the judgement [sic]."
Jessica also used Twitter to stick up for her sister when she was dropped from Melrose Place last month.
"CW catching up on MP. Who writes this crap? i have had bad scripts to work with, but this? thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press," she Tweeted.
As for her own body, Ashlee says she has plenty of support at home from her husband, musician Pete Wentz.
"He always makes me feel sexy," she tells the mag. "There's gonna be a time when I'm way curvier, and that'll be sexy too. What defines sexy is not someone's weight. Personally I like curves. ... I wanna look good [for me]. I wanna feel good."
