HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Actress Ashley Jensen is "flipping out."
The 39-year-old "Ugly Betty" star and her husband, Terrence Beesley, have filed a lawsuit against "Flipping Out" stars Jeff Lewis and Ryan Brown, Access Hollywood has learned.
In the lawsuit, which was filed last Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, the couple argues that Lewis and his company, Vicious Investments, Inc., crossed the line while renovating a property next to their own.
The trouble reportedly began when a deck Lewis constructed on the fixer-upper home encroached on their property. Things quickly escalated from there, with Lewis first asking for an easement — the right to leave the encroachment. The couple balked at his offer of $10,000 for the easement and reportedly demanded $100,000 instead, according to court papers obtained by Access.
Less than thrilled with their counter, Lewis is said to have paid the couple a late-night visit, whereby he threatened to cast them in a "negative light" on the Bravo show, in addition to threatening to move in next door and make their lives "miserable."
A temporary restraining order has since been issued against Lewis by the court, ordering him to stay 50 feet away from the couple's home and not harass, assault or trespass on the property.
In a statement to Access, Lewis denied any wrongdoing.
"Actress Ashley Jensen and her husband Terry Beesley and I have a simple encroachment dispute that should have been resolved informally," he said. "Having apparently watched my reality show, they now feel they can exploit my personality to increase their media exposure and their alleged damages."
"I have never threatened either of them with physical harm, nor was I abusive or verbally threatening to either of them," Lewis continued. "In fact I have never even met Ms. Jensen. The court will decide how much the easement is worth and Ms. Jensen and Mr. Beesley will then be left having to earn media coverage on their talent alone."
