HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Bachelor castoff Gia Allemand is ready to hit the dating scene again, but she admits there was a lot of heartbreak when Jake Pavelka voted her off the hit ABC show.
"It took me a while [to get over Jake] when I got home," the 26-year-old model admitted Thursday on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. "I didn't really go out much."
Making matters worse for Allemand was she eventually had to replay that fateful goodbye all over again.
"I finally got over it and I was moving on," she said of the difficulty in having to watch her dismissal on Monday night's episode. "I was like hysterical in my hotel room. I was like, 'Oh my, that really hurt.' "
Earlier this week, the New York Post claimed Allemand already had a boyfriend waiting at home in Long Island restaurant owner Dominick Pierno. The brunette beauty brushed off the allegation and said she's just now jumping back into the singles market.
"I'm actually going to have my first date next week," said Allemand, who has previously been linked to baseball's Carl Pavano and hockey's Chris Campoli. "My first date in a while."
As for Pavelka's final two women, Allemand said she was pulling for surprise finalist Vienna Girardi over Tenley Molzahn.
"I like [Vienna] a lot," she said. "I think she is a really good person."
