On Friday, the musician filed for divorce from the actress after five years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences, TMZ reports.

The Grammy winner is seeking joint custody of their two children - son Ellery, 9, and daughter Jaya, 5.

Harper, 40, and Dern, 43, tied the knot in 2005 after meeting five years earlier at one of the singer's concerts.

The "Steal My Kisses" singer also has two children with his first wife, Joanna.
