HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Benji Madden says he’s known all along that girlfriend Paris Hilton could be the one.
“I always knew that she was, like, wife material, or serious girlfriend material,” the Good Charlotte guitarist told “Yo On E!”
While Madden, 29, and Hilton, 27, have only dated for a few months, the rocker says wedding bells could certainly be ringing in the near future.
“I’m not gonna bet against you on that,” Madden told host Michael Yo, who asked the rock star if he could be engaged within six months. “I’m very, very happy right now.”
Madden also said the tabloids were slow to pick up on the couple’s deep feelings for each other.
“We were in love before anyone even knew we were together,” he said.
Madden said that anyone who finds true love in life “is really lucky,” adding that he sometimes almost has to restrain himself.
“You just want to get on top of a mountain and go ‘I’m in love!,’ but your fans would probably make fun of you,” he said.
