HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — The epic battle is finally over.
In a court showdown that began a year-and-a-half ago, Kevin Federline will retain sole custody of his two sons with Britney Spears.
"The case has been settled," Federline's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told E! Online. "The court still has to approve it."
Federline, 30, and Spears, 26, are both due in court today.
The ex-couple's legal fight began in July 2007 with a shared 50/50 custody arrangement for their two children, Sean Preston, 2½, and Jayden James, 1½. But Spears lost her overnight rights at the start of the year, after being hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Last month, the pop star was granted overnight privileges again for the first time since January. She currently has monitored, twice-a-week visitations, in addition to one overnight-a-week.
It is widely believed that the singer will continue to get increased visitation rights in the future.
