HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Jamie Spears will remain in control of his pop star daughter’s affairs until Dec. 31, a judge ruled Thursday.

“It is my understanding that Ms. Spears is reluctantly agreeing that we extend the temporary letters (of conservatorship),” Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz said while issuing the ruling, according to Reuters.

Jamie Spears, 56, and attorney Andrew Wallet were named co-conservators on Feb. 1. The legal ruling followed his daughter’s tumultuous start to the year, which included two well-publicized hospitalizations in January.

Goetz has set a progress review of the case for Oct. 28, with another hearing date scheduled for Dec. 22.

In other news, the “Gimme More” singer’s attorney, Samuel D. Ingham III, told the Associated Press that he wouldn’t seek to extend the restraining order against her former manager, Osama “Sam” Lutfi, which was scheduled to expire on Thursday.

“Britney has made clear to everyone that she does not want to be further harassed or contacted in any way by Osama ‘Sam’ Lutfi, now or at anytime in the future,” he told AP.
