LOS ANGELES — Adnan Ghalib, the ex-boyfriend of pop star Britney Spears, has been charged with three felonies stemming from an incident with a process server, according to Access Hollywood.
Ghalib allegedly hit the server with his car outside his home on Jan. 30. He is facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon, battery, and hit and run.
"The victim was allegedly serving a temporary restraining order obtained by Spears's father on paparazzi photographer Adnan Ghalib's Encino apartment complex. Ghalib allegedly got into his car and drove it toward the victim," read a statement from the DA's office obtained by Access.
"To avoid being penned against a trash truck, the victim allegedly jumped on the hood of Ghalib's Mercedes and hung on as the defendant swerved the car," the statement continued. "The victim later fell off, breaking his wrist and sustaining other injuries. The defendant allegedly drove away without stopping."
If convicted, Ghalib could be facing seven years in prison.
