HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — It turns out that Britney Spears is good for the economy.
A report by Portfolio magazine has revealed that the annual value of the 26-year-old pop star to the U.S. economy is somewhere between $110-120 million — and that's when she isn't even touring.
Portfolio estimates that record companies, promoters and licensers make $30-40 million thanks to endorsements, record sales and other business.
It says that the paparazzi makes $4 million from selling photos of the "Gimme More" singer, while celebrity tabloids, web traffic and other media make an estimated $75 million off her in a year.
The report says a celebrity tabloid can sell as many as 33% more copies if Spears is on the cover.
The singer is worth an estimated $125 million and still earns about $737,000 a month according to figures submitted as part of her ongoing court battle with her ex-husband Kevin Federline.
The report says Federline himself benefits by commanding almost $30,000 for nightclub appearances thanks to his connection to Spears, on top of the $35,000 a month he gets from her in spousal and child-support payments.
