LAS VEGAS, Nev. — While his marriage to pop star Pink may have ended after two years, Carey Hart says the former couple's relationship remains strong.
"We talk all the time and try to stay connected as much as possible," Hart told People over the weekend at the opening of his new club Wasted Space, located at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. "It's a tough situation to be in but I love her to death."
The ex-lovers first met at the 2001 X Games. The 28-year-old singer would later propose to the 33-year-old motocross star in 2005 by asking him to marry her during one of his races in Mammoth Lakes, Calif., holding up a sign with "Will you marry me?" on it.
They married in Costa Rica on Jan. 7, 2006 in a sunset ceremony.
When the couple's split was announced in February, the singer's publicist, Michele Schweitzer, explained: "This decision was made by best friends with a huge amount of love and respect for one another."
"While the marriage is over, their friendship has never been stronger," she added.
With Pink in the studio working on her new album, Hart said he's become "a workaholic" ever since the couple went their separate ways. The entrepreneur admitted that he's "not in any rush to get back into a relationship," telling People he hasn't fully moved on yet.
"I miss everything about her," he told the magazine.
