LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Unlike so many other high-profile celebrity divorces, Carey Hart is not about to sling any dirt at his former lover Pink.
"Above and beyond everything, we are the best of friends and she is the love of my life," he revealed to People magazine last night in Las Vegas.
Hart, who was making his first public comments since the ex-couple announced their plans to separate last month, added, "We talk all the time."
The 32-year-old motocross star, who is a Vegas native, was attending the grand opening of Ago restaurant inside the Hard Rock Hotel. This summer, Hart will be opening a new bar at the venue called Wasted Space.
"It's about rock and roll decadence," he said. "It's everything a rock and roll bar should be — dark, gritty, comfortable with plenty of booze and a lot of loud, rocking-out music."
Hart and Pink first met at the 2001 X Games. The 28-year-old singer proposed to him in 2005 by asking him to marry her during one of his races in Mammoth Lakes, Calif., holding up a sign with "Will you marry me?" on it.
They married in Costa Rica on Jan. 7, 2006 in a sunset ceremony.
