HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Ken Paves has certainly proven that he's willing to go the extra mile.
The celebrity stylist was injured Saturday night while attempting to protect his pal Jessica Simpson from a swarm of paparazzi, E! Online reports.
The duo was reportedly leaving Los Angeles restaurant Madeo late Saturday night with another male friend when the incident occurred. As the trio exited, they were immediately surrounded by several photographers, which led to Paves being struck in the face by a camera.
"There were so many paparazzi waiting for Jessica and trying to get a picture of her that they all started pushing," an onlooker told E! of the wild scene. "Jessica was ducking down and Ken Paves and her other male friend were trying to cover her."
It wasn't until the threesome found safety in their waiting vehicle that Paves' injury was fully realized.
"Blood was running down his nose when he was in the car," a source told E!
Paves was immediately driven to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he received nine stitches to mend the cut on his head.
