HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Actor Chad Lowe has blasted rumors that his girlfriend Kim Painter has been secretly hooking up with Val Kilmer.
The rumors began swirling after a source told the New York Post’s Page Six that the “mystery” gal recently snapped running hand-in-hand from the paparazzi with Kilmer appeared to be Painter — Lowe’s girlfriend of a year.
However, Lowe’s rep tells Page Six that Lowe and Painter are “madly in love,” and, “Val and Kim are old friends and were working in Los Angeles together.”
Kilmer, 48, divorced his wife, actress Joanne Whalley in 1996. They have two children together, 16-year-old Mercedes and 12-year-old Jack. He is currently filming the crime drama “Felon” with Stephen Dorff in New Mexico.
Last week, he joined Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson and Katie Holmes at a lunch to mark the 10th anniversary of V-Day, a global effort to end violence against women and girls.
Lowe, 39, was previously married to Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank for nine years, but they split in 2005. He announced he was dating Painter in January last year.
