HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Charlize Theron has joined the growing list of celebs taking on the paparazzi.
On Thursday, the 33-year-old actress was involved in an altercation with a group of snappers as she strolled through Hollywood with her boyfriend, actor Stuart Townsend.
According to TV's Extra, the incident began when a few overly-aggressive photographers bumped into some innocent bystanders.
"You just hit this woman!" snapped Theron. "It was not an accident, you idiot!"
Things quickly escalated from there, with Townsend, 35, getting into a heated exchange with the photogs. That led to Theron dialing 911 — a call that went to waste as the paparazzi scrambled away from the scene immediately.
Earlier in the day, it was announced that Theron, Ben Affleck and Josh Brolin would be among the stars taking part in the Starz Green Room at the Democratic National Convention later this month. The Starz Green Room will be featuring screenings of politically-oriented films, in addition to panel discussions as part of the events surrounding the upcoming convention.
