HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — The wait is nearly over for Christina Aguilera fans.
The five-time Grammy winner will release her highly-anticipated new album, Bionic, on June 8, label RCA Records revealed Thursday.
The first single from the album, "Not Myself Tonight," will premiere on Aguilera's official Web site at 6 p.m. EDT on March 30. The track is produced by Polow Da Don.
The pop diva's fourth studio album also features collaborations with such artists as Sia, Tricky Stewart, Le Tigre, Hill & Switch and Ladytron. There's also a ballad produced and written by Linda Perry titled "Lift Me Up."
"Working on this album with so many talented artists and producers that I admire was really an amazing experience," said Aguilera. "The artists I chose to work with added so many unique sonic layers to Bionic. My intention was to step into their world and what they do combined with my own vision and sound. The results were magic."
Aguilera, 29, recorded the album after the birth of her now 2-year-old son, Max. She described her new material as a unique mix of genres and styles.
"I was able to explore and create a fresh, sexy feel using both electronic and organic elements with subject matter ranging from playful to introspective," she explained. "I am so excited for my fans to hear the new sound. It is something I don't think anyone will expect."
Aguilera will make her big screen debut later this year in the musical Burlesque, a film co-starring Cher, Stanley Tucci and Kristen Bell.
