The singer, who says his abuse problems are a result of “severe anxiety attacks and sleep disorder,” has cancelled all of his concert dates and personal appearances for the next 30 days.

“I will be disappearing for a while to try and defeat the demons that have stripped me of my energy of life and good health for so many years now,” Montgomery wrote. “I assure you that however long it may take, I’m gonna fight to the end and come out stronger.”

Montgomery, 43, has fifteen No. 1 singles to his name over the years, including the hit tracks “I Swear” and “Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident),” which were both Billboard country singles of the year.

Montgomery’s latest album, “Time Flies,” will be released in September.
