HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Donny Osmond, Melissa Joan Hart and Kelly Osbourne will be among the celebs hitting the floor on the upcoming ninth season of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars," the network revealed live Monday on "Good Morning America."
Others who will be in search of the 2009 mirror ball trophy include singers Aaron Carter, Mya and Macy Gray.
There will also be a strong contingent of athletes hoping that their athletic skills can translate to the dance floor, with the new list of contestants including former football star Michael Irvin, ultimate fighting champ Chuck Liddell, U.S. Olympic swimmer Natalie Coughlin and snowboarder Louie Vito.
Perhaps the biggest shocker is the addition of former House of Representatives Majority Leader Tom DeLay to the "DWTS" cast.
While DeLay was certainly a surprising twist, others such as Osmond have been rumored for some time. In January, the former teen idol revealed on "The Bonnie Hunt Show" that he hoped to someday follow in his sister Marie's footsteps on the dance series.
"I can't let my sister upstage me," the 51-year-old Donny told Hunt. "Besides, who do you think taught her how to dance?"
"That not fair!" replied Marie, who was was paired with dancing pro Jonathan Roberts on the show's fifth season. "The men do half the work."
The new season of "Dancing with the Stars" will premiere on Monday, Sept. 21.
