HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — For once, Dane Cook isn't laughing.
The 37-year-old funnyman appeared on Thursday's "Larry King Live," where he spoke out about the December arrest of his half brother, Darryl McCauley, who is accused of stealing millions of dollars from the comedian.
"It's a terrible betrayal," Cook said of the embezzlement charges. "But hopefully justice will be served and I can move on with my life."
In March, the 43-year-old McCauley pleaded not guilty to eight counts of larceny over $250, forgery and larceny by continuous scheme at a Massachusetts hearing. Prosecutors claim that McCauley swiped the dough while working as Cook's business manager, a role that earned him $12,500 per month.
Cook told King that everything seemed to happen overnight.
"I worked with my only half brother for several years. Woke up one day and a lot of stuff missing," he explained. "There is a good chunk of money that is certainly not accounted for. That's all I can say about it at this point."
When asked by the host how he's handling the alleged betrayal, Cook said: "Dance. Larry, you dance."
