HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — David Archuleta is back in the news, but this time there isn't a "happy ending."
The "American Idol" star's father, James Archuleta, was busted in January during a prostitution sting, the Salt Lake City Tribune revealed on Wednesday.
The 47-year-old Archuleta was cited on Jan. 14 at the Salt Lake City "massage parlor" Queens Reiki. The establishment had come under the watchful eye of authorities after patients at a nearby medical office complained, the newspaper said.
During the raid, cops busted Archuleta "because he was sexually gratified by one of the masseuse girls," Sgt. John Salazar told the Tribune.
Archuleta pleaded no contest to solicitation of prostitution on Jan. 30. He has since paid a $582 court fee and completed a counseling class. Should he avoid being "gratified" again, the case will be dismissed at the end of the month.
