HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Dennis Hopper has filed for divorce from his wife, Victoria, after nearly 14 years of marriage, according to court papers obtained by People magazine.
The 73-year-old actor cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. The date of the divorce filing, which took place in Los Angeles, was not revealed.
The couple, who tied the knot in April 1996, have one child together, a 6-year-old daughter named Galen.
Hopper, who has been married five times, is currently taking a break from his career after being diagnosed with prostate cancer in October. The bout with cancer was revealed one month after Hopper fell ill while he was in New York City to promote his Starz television series Crash, based on the 2004 Oscar-winning film of the same name.
During his distinguished career, Hopper has received Oscar nominations for the films Easy Rider and Hoosiers. Other notable movie credits include Apocalypse Now and Blue Velvet.
