HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — John Forsythe, best known as the scheming oil tycoon on Dynasty and the voice of Charlie in both the TV and film versions of Charlie's Angels, has died. He was 92.
Forsythe passed away Thursday in Santa Ynez, Calif. due to complications from pneumonia after a yearlong battle with cancer, his publicist told the Associated Press.
"Thankfully, he died as he lived his life, with dignity and grace," his family said in a statement.
Forsythe struck gold as Blake Carrington on the primetime soap Dynasty, which aired from 1981-89 and earned him three Emmy nominations along the way.
His acting career spanned over six decades and including theater, television and films.
Forsythe is survived his wife, Nicole, his son and daughter-in-law, Dall and Ana Marie Forsythe, his two grown daughters, Page Courtemanche and Brooke Forsythe, as well as six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
