HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian are taking a giant step in their relationship.
The actor and his two sons – Mason, 7, and Jake, 3 – will be moving into the country star's home in Calabasas, Calif.
"It just made sense for them," a source tells People of the move, which is expected to happen sometime in the next month. "Eddie's lease was up and LeAnn's home was bigger and already familiar to Eddie's sons."
Rimes purchased the Hidden Hills home shortly after the twosome went public with their relationship last year. The mother of Cibrian's children, model Brandi Glanville, lives nearby.
"It's somewhere the kids know and it allows Mason to stay in the same school district, which was important to them, that there's continuity for him," the insider explained. "They take [moving in with the kids] with a lot of responsibility. They want to make sure that it was done in the right way."
Earlier today, Rimes took to Twitter to dismiss reports that the move was prompted by Cibrian losing his CSI job. As for the couple sharing a home together, the singer already seems to be warming up to the idea.
"@eddiecibrian showing me how to do yard wrk! Think it's the first time I've ever paid attention to yard wrk," Rimes wrote over the weekend on Twitter. "Doesn't hurt when a hot guy is showing you! Always more interesting!!"
